E.ON Ruhrgas supplies gas to Energieversorgung Greiz

Local utility makes use of gas trading option

Energieversorgung Greiz will receive gas from E.ON Ruhrgas in the 2011/12 gas year. The two companies have agreed on an energy partnership. Energieversorgung Greiz will receive the so-called trading starter package from E.ON Ruhrgas. This flexible wholesale product allows customers to cover part of their gas procurement via trading.

"We want to help our customers to respond to market challenges in good time and to hold their own in competition. Access to exchange-based gas trading plays an important part in this respect. We are very pleased that we can assist Energieversorgung Greiz in future as a competent partner," stated Dr. Stefan Vogg, Chief Sales Officer of E.ON Ruhrgas.

In the E.ON Group, E.ON Ruhrgas is responsible for pan-European gas business, i.e. for supplying European markets with gas. The customers include local and regional energy suppliers, industrial clients and power stations. They can choose from a broad range of products - extending from full supply to procurement involving trading-based elements.

Energieversorgung Greiz GmbH supplies residential and commercial customers with power, gas and heat. The company was established in 1992. With 30 employees and currently six trainees, the company based in Thuringia is committed to individual customer care, reliable services and close links with the region.

Energieversorgung Greiz identifies itself with "Local Energy" for its roughly 5,200 gas customers. Its local commitment is also reflected in its long-standing support for regional sports clubs, cultural activities and social projects.
